Music Box Live at The Pigalle, Picadilly

Have you ever been to Music Box Live at The Pigalle? If not you should definitely check it out as it’s always a hot spot for up and coming musical talent and every now and then the odd celebrity (either watching in the crowd or performing on stage!).
Featured acts in the past have included people like Will Smith, Daniel Bedingfield, Amy Winehouse, Lional Richie, and even Prince and Stevie Wonders Bands!
The night used to be held at the 10Room, just around the corner, though when that closed for refurbishment they moved to Pigalle Club on Piccadilly Circus, bringing the following they built up over the years with them! Since then, the club has been getting more and more attention and seems to be turning into one of the hottest live music events in town, attracting both big names and seeming to be filled with beautiful punters.
The clubs plush decor gives the night a really classy feel. You can observe the band from the balcony as waiters serve you drinks, or down stairs, where there’s space to have a little boogie as the night heats up. You can even book a table and order some food whilst you enjoy the musical delights of the house band and the guest acts.
The night is half dedicated to showcasing unsigned acts, so you can be sure to see some great up and coming artists. It’s also a favourite haunt for record label people who come regularly to check out the fresh talent.
The House Band glue the night together with a huge repertoire of soul/funk and R&B hits and standards, played in and around the other performers. They take a break half way through the evening as the DJ takes over with some more Hip hop/R&B club classics which always get the people moving. After that, the band play a few numbers before the guest artist comes up to entertain the crowd, sometimes announced and sometimes not (as in the case of Beverly Knight who gave an impromptu performance last year with Daniel Beddingfield).
Headline acts such as Stevie Wonders band have been known to jam until the early hours! Make sure you catch the event, which is held every Friday from around 8pm-2am. It’ll cost around £10 to get in. Drinks are expensive so don’t be expecting drink vending machine prices!
