Edward Maya

Edward Maya is a Romanian DJ and music producer, who recently, after releasing only two independent songs, gained much of the electronic music fans’love. Known for his soft, melodic and amazing clubbing music, for less than 9 months Edward became a performer with incredible fame, visited more than hlaf of the world performing and introduced a complete set of innovations in the electronic music genre such as softening the sound, making distinctive sounds louder with only the voice of the singer above its loudliness.

Edward Maya is born in 1986 in Bucurest, Romania and from his early years he had a passion for music. When 19, he cooperated with a Romanian singer for the Eurovision competition and the song reached #4 among all other competitors. He also had mutual projects with other romanian artists (Akcent, Costi etc.) and his name was well known in romania even before the expolosion of his career that came in 2009.

In 2009, Maya released his first song called “Stereo Love”. In the first month after the release it reached #2 in the Romanian music charts and was adored by thousands of fans in the country. The following weeks the hit came in Europe (where I heard it while in my property in Fethiye), rapidly influencing the audience with its amazing sounds and fine voices. It hit the charts in England, Sweden, Germany, France, Spain and other countries by reaching the top places only for a couple of weeks after the official song video came out, starring Maya as the main character in it.

The socond song Maya released was “This is my Life”that became particularly popular in Asia and was the fans’favourite in Dubai where the artists had one of his best performances. The song has a similiar sound mixture and amazing vocal parts.

This is how Edward Maya progressed over the past year -people are already into his music, making him one of the best DJs for 2009 and an artist the first album of whom is expected with extreme anticipation.
